Hello. I’m a postdoctoral research fellow in the Gygi Laboratory in the Department of Cell Biology at Harvard Medical School. I got my PhD in Chemistry working in the Wyss-Coray Laboratory in the Department of Neurology and Neurological Sciences at Stanford School of Medicine as well as the Burns Laboratory in the Department of Chemistry at Stanford University. This website is completely unaffiliated with those organizations.

Science

Every once in a while, I get to write or coauthor a paper and it gets published. Sometimes, I do science that I think is interesting that doesn’t get published. Click below to see all about that. You can also visit my Google Scholar profile.

Music

My primary instrument is the drumset, but I also sing and play guitar. I play guitar some Thursday nights at open mic night at The Bebop in Boston. Some iPhone recordings of me playing covers live can be found on my YouTube channel.

Volunteer Work

I have volunteered for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts, AbleWorks’ FutureProfits program (East Palo Alto, CA), the Stanford Department of Chemistry’s Inspiring Future Scientists through Shadowing (IFSS) program, and Bay Area Scientists in Schools (BASIS), as well as a few political campaigns.

Podcast

In 2018, my brother Scott, who is not a scientist and is a brilliant and extremely knowledgeable fanatic of comic books and superheroes and sci-fi, agreed to co-host a podcast with me where we explain science and science fiction to each other. The podcast is currently on hiatus, but I bet you’ll like the episodes that are up.
